This article has to be my favorite of Mark Farinella's called "Were Ready for Anything"! In 1982, when he had chosen his Sun Chronicle All Star team, he was assualted by a parent whose kid did not make it to the list. Mark was also and is a feminist and did as much for North Attleboro girls basketball as did Lisa Iacuzzi, Not a Good Queer, and others continue the movement of equality in sports.
He writes, that Lisa Iacuzzi could have started on any boys basketball team, and her ability to dribble the ball while lying on the floor may some day earn her a job with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Well Mark, I have been on the floor and yet I still paved my way to three civil rights victories. Yes, Mark, I live my life the way I played ball, with passion. I take a side, this is what makes me different but I know their are many other rebels like me..
Thanks Mark Farinella for being a civil rights activists through womens sports.
